Korean Concert Society (KCS) has begun partnering with the New York-based  organization Young Concert Artists (YCA) to select outstanding young musicians to perform in debut recitals co-presented by KCS and YCA at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

Young Concert Artists is a non-profit organization founded by Susan Wadsworth in 1961, dedicated to discovering and launching the careers of exceptional, but unknown, young musicians from all over the world.  Each YCA Artist is chosen by winning the annual Young Concert Artists International Auditions.

Each year, KCS will select one outstanding musician from among the winners of the YCA Audition as the Korean Concert Society Prize Winner, who will perform at the Kennedy Center in a recital co-presented by KCS and YCA.

Since 1980, KCS has identified outstanding young classical musicians of Korean heritage from all over the world and nurtured their careers, providing a key stepping stone in the careers of many of today’s leading artists. Through this partnership with YCA, it will continue to support the growth of young musicians, not limited to those of Korean heritage.

In 2013, French clarinetist Raphaël Sévère was selected for the 2014 Korean Concert Society Prize.
